Hatice Pinarbaşi’s pictorial approach engages words, figures, and space. Whether they are sculptural paintings or standalone works, they seem to whisper stories and converse with one another, animated by a life of their own. Hatice Pinarbaşi creates a strange language composed of symbols and organic forms, populated by spirits and invisible mystical entities. Hatice Pinarbaşi plays with motifs, theatricality, fabrics, and objects, creating narrative scenes and environments in an approach that is both poetic and political.
